Frequently Asked Questions
Throughout the semester, any question I receive I will try to post here so all students can see the responses. If you have a question, feel free to ask me at devin.gray AT montana DOT edu. Thanks and happy coding!
- What is ESUS?
ESUS is the CS student server. This is not required for the course, but if you are interested you can setup an account on an ad-hoc basis by contacting the Systems Manager, Scott Dowdle, at sdowdle AT montana DOT edu. ESUS is a linux server in which you can run various programs on, including Java ones :).
- What is GIT?
GIT is a source code management system for software development (git). I highly recommend learning this as a way to store and manage assignments and programs throughout this course and the remainder of your software career. It is an invaluable tool at your disposal.
